题目: Theoretical and observational confrontation of cosmology and gravity, and the new era of multi-messenger astronomy

摘要:
Multiple observations indicate that around 95% of the Universe content
corresponds to unknown sectors, collectively called “dark energy” (around
70%) and “dark matter” (around 25%). Additionally, theoretical and
observational reasons lead to the introduction of the inflationary
paradigm in the Standard Model of Cosmology, whose exact driving mechanism
is however still under investigation. We review the various theoretical
models and scenarios that try to explain the observational data, which
modify either the universe content or the gravitational theory. Finally,
we present the recent possibility of using multi-messenger astronomy,
namely data from gravitational waves observations alongside their
electromagnetic counterparts, in order to constrain various cosmological
scenarios and test general relativity.
